Shigra Bags 100% hand-made by indigenous women from the Andean Ecuadorian region; the bags are woven using natural cabuya fiber with handles made by high-quality natural leather hand-tanned.
The shigra tote bag format is medium with leather handles to carry it around the shoulder or on the forearm, it has a piping around the contour of the bag and an interior leather pocket to store a cell phone or keys, it does not have a lining. Magnet closure.
Cabuya is a biodegradable fibre that decomposes naturally and can be used as a fertiliser, it does not pollute the environment and the processes used to obtain the fibre are based on sustainable and totally artisanal techniques.

How long did it take the artisan woman to weave the bag?
4 to 6 weeks
Clean with a damp cloth or dry brush if necessary.
Do not expose to moisture, NOT WASHABLE. May fade colour.
If your bag has white areas use a small brush with clear liquid soap and carefully clean the area for a couple of minutes. Be sure not to get Clorox or water on the coloured areas.
Do not expose the product for long hours in the sun, its colour can be altered like all natural fibres.
A recycled cotton dust cover is included to help preserve your product.
We have taken care of every detail. Please keep in mind that all of our products are hand-made by artisans, thus they are unique pieces and there are not perfect duplicates. Each of the products might present slight variations of color and dimensions.
We kindly ask you to bear in mind these slight imperfections give a human value and unique character to our products.
Allow time to wear out naturally the leather and softens it with the use. The leather has been handcrafted and can maintain various natural rigid textures of the material.
